These five teachers teach subjects such as English and mathematics, and have been working at Gaoshang Town Primary School for periods ranging from 4 to 7 years. When asked about their reasons for choosing to teach in rural areas, their answers varied. Some came due to a family influence and a love for education, while others became teachers by chance after failed entrepreneurial ventures or other coincidences.

Why choose to stay in rural education? Apart from in system requirements, the teachers mentioned that seeing the dilemma of rural education is one reason, but more importantly, they hope to guide children who in the confused period to understand a broader world.
"Tell them what the outside world has to offer, broaden their horizons, and explain the meaning of learning. It's not for the teacher, not for the parents, and not just about getting a certain score. I just want they to see a wider world," said Teacher Shen Huan. In the cognize of many children, the biggest city and town they know is Guilin and Xing'an County. They cannot comprehend what the vast world outside is like. As young teachers, their greatest hope is that through teaching, the children can touch this world. They want the children not to confine their lives to this small county town, but to motivate their desire to explore the outside world.

From the interviews, we learned that most of the children in rural areas are left-behind children, which is one of the major challenges currently facing in rural education. In the town, some teaching areas only accept first and second-grade students. After third grade, children who come to primary school are managed under a boarding system. They already have limited communication with their parents, and their family also give them minimal concern, this lead to a lack of psychological care for the children. "You have to guide them, make them trust you, or rely on you," said Teacher Li Junyi. As rural teachers, they have taken on the important role of caring for the children and guiding them to build a bridge with their parents. Through care and love, they make the children rely and believe them. They leading the children to establish correct values and moral standards, ensuring that education does not form a gap in rural areas.
